What they are
These machines are designed to print logos, text or graphics directly onto plastic film or polythene bags (e.g., PE, PP, BOPP). They often use flexographic printing technology (anilox rollers, ink trays, large‐format printing drums) and roll‐to‐roll material feeding.
Typical features: printing width from ~600 mm to 2,000 mm+, printing speeds from 30–120 m/min, multi‐colour units (4‐colour, 6‐colour, etc.).
Key selection criteria
- Printing width & material feed: Ensure it matches your bag width and roll size. For example: max printing width 650mm for some models.
- Number of colours: More colour units = more complex graphics (4, 6, 8 colours common).
- Print speed & stability: Variable frequency drives, tension control, edge guiding systems improve quality at higher speed.
- Drying/curing system: For faster output, good drying or curing after printing is essential.
- Registration accuracy: For multi‐colour prints, longitudinal/cross‐wise precision matters.
- Substrate compatibility: Check if it supports the specific type of bag material you use (HDPE, LDPE, BOPP, etc).
- Support & service: For such large machines, after‐sales service, spare parts, training matter.
